Swedish Massage: The classic massage, many refer to it as a
relaxation massage. It is typically lighter and can help promote
circulation, ease tension and pain, improve the condition of the skin,
and relax and soften overworked muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep Tissue is also a full body massage where the therapist uses a
slow firm pressure and focuses on specific muscles. Deep work is good
for chronically tense muscles such as a stiff neck or sore back. It
works to break down adhesions in the tissue that is causing pain and
restricting movement. Deep Tissue should not be painful, and is
not recommended for someone who has never had a massage before.
Myofascial Release (MFR): This massage helps restore mobility to
the fascia and soften connective tissue that has become stiff and rigid.
It is a very gentle massage using very little or no lubricant.
Myofascial Release is good for those with fibromyalgia or those with
allergies to lotions and oils.
Sports Massage:
Used to promote the health and wellbeing of an athlete or someone
who engages in strenuous physical activity, Sports Massage is used in
recovery, rehab, maintenance, and events. It can help enhance athletic
performance by helping an athlete heal and recover from strenuous
workouts. It also addresses problem areas before they worsen, and can
aid in the rehabilitation process. Pre- and post-event massages are also
available, which help prepare the body for exercise and then help it
recover afterwards. |

Pre- and Perinatal Massage (Pregnancy Massage): Pregnancy Massage
can be many things to a woman, and it can help relieve the discomforts
of carrying a baby for nine months. Women can be massaged throughout the
pregnancy process, from the moment they find out they are expecting
through labor and postpartum recovery. Pregnancy Massage may help do the
following: reduce stress and promote relaxation, reduce edema and high
blood pressure, reduce musculoskeletal pain, contribute to shorter, less
painful labor, foster nurturing touch, and help with postpartum
recovery.
